6 Years Age of Love XXXL

Remember the days when all of Belgium would be raving from Friday till Tuesday… the days in which there were no tomorrows and in which love and life were celebrated through house, trance and techno beats every weekend, all weekend long. Well, at Age of Love those magic days from the nineties are not only remembered but also relived on various events throughout the year. Be it intimately at Charlatan in Ghent or abundantly @ the Vooruit, for 6 years Age of Love has been the ultimate party for all those who like to take a musical trip through our electronic past.

For this special 6th anniversary edition Age of Love will, just like last year, touchdown in 3 rooms of the Artcube. Last year was already a memorable night: completely sold-out in advance (like every Age of Love party) and an amazing atmosphere with all the hands in the air at many moments and smiling faces all around.

► Concept:

We are convinced that this year’s celebrations will even exceed those expectations because we’ve cooked up a very special line-up. No less than 4 big headliners in the main room, two in the other rooms and off course, the crop of the Belgian scene to lead them on.

In “The Big Love Room” Italy’s most famous dj, Joe T. Vannelli is the main foreign guest. He’s the man who remixed legends such as Masters At Work, Danny Tenaglia, David Guetta, Giorgio Moroder, Bohannon, … and produced artists as Robert Miles, Spiller, Pink Coffee and more. He’s also the only Italian dj. who ever received an award at the DJ Awards in Ibiza where he now holds his Supa Love Events. He will be fully supported by another great international star, M.I.K.E aka Push who gained worldwide success with tracks as ‘Universal Nation’. This Belgian also got to remix great stars as Sinéad O’Connor, Moby, Mauro Picotto, Bomfunk MC’s and Ian Van Dahl. Next up is quite a special act as we don’t see Jones & Stephenson do their live-act very often anymore, so looking forward to that one! From Holland hails Marco Joosten who scored several big hits with Systematic Parts on Extrema Records. They will be joined by more great Belgian talent as Yves Deruyter, Quincy, Bountyhunter, Marko and Phi-Phi: all those names that made the great reputations of legendary clubs as Cherrymoon, Extreme, La Rocca and more.

In the “Teknoville Room” we honor that first real dance program on national radio. The first show in which we discovered the house sounds from Chicago and the techno sounds from Detroit with a touch of trance that was so typical for those times in our own country. Here we present no less than two of the founding fathers of house music with Lil Louis and Ron Trent. Lil Louis who turned into an icon after releasing the “French Kiss” track and later scored again when he teamed up with Josh Wink for the impressive “How’s your evening so far?” on Ovum Recordings. Ron Trent made waves with the “Altered States” track and his Prescription label. He made his name in Chicago and then moved on to the New York scenes before conquering the world. They will get the company of Franky Jones, Jan van Biesen and Michael Forzza for that perfect Teknoville mix of early electronic sounds.

For the ultimate “after” house tracks there’s the “Endless Love Room”, a small dark room which will be lead by Jaydee from Holland who was already a guest on Age of Love before but will this time be playing a true house set. More house will be provided by Sven Van Hees, DJ Prinz, Eric B and Philippe Traikos. Let it all loose!

Next to the sounds, a lot of attention goes into creating a sublime atmosphere: dance acts, dance platforms, lasers and more remind the public of that special feeling on the typical raves from the ‘90’s.

In the Artcube, with its industrial look and feel, which will be fitted with the ultimate heavyweight sound-systems, you will surely be catapulted back in time. Back to those days where the love vibes were flowing all around and we danced like there was no tomorrow.
